The Colour Authority has been training stylists in the Portland area through apprenticeship since our founding in 1985.

We offer a 8-24 month apprenticeship program
You will learn the important art of consultation
You will learn the latest color and cutting techniques as well as the classics
You will learn how to formulate and mix color
How to complete a service with a great style
How to educate your clients on how to reproduce their style at home with styling and product knowledge
We offer separate one on one classes where you can perfect your skills
We offer fast tracking (3 months apprentice) for stylists with 3 or more years salon experience
